Ford Mustang Is Music to My Ears

autosIn an odd pairing of companies for a charity fundraising event, Ford teamed up with Fender, the legendary guitar company, to auction off a new Shelby GT500KR Mustang along with a matching Stratocaster six-string earlier this year. The auction took place in January at the 37th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Event in Arizona. This is one of the largest automobile auctions in the world, so there was no better place to bring together these two icons in their respective industries  for a good cause.

But this wasn’t the first time the two legends teamed up. In 2007, Fender created a limited-edition guitar to help celebrate the new Shelby GT Mustang. This year, the guitar company created 100 of these models to commemorate Ford’s new release.

I’m not sure which one looks sleeker, either. The new Fender is a deep glossy black with shimmery silver stripes. The neck is generally black with several silver accents as highlights.

And the 2008 Shelby GT500 KR Mustang isn’t much different. Its sleek black style and silver accents are perfect for any muscle car lover who likes to speed down the highway with a stealth-like appearance.

Who can pass up a matching set like this? Most people buying the new Mustang are going to buy the Stratocaster as well, even if it’s for no other reason than to sell it on e-Bay for much more than they paid. They just went on sale at the end of January, but you might still be able to get yours by clicking here before they’re sold out.

This just shows that the Mustang is truly a unique classic. How many other Ford vehicles could warrant such an event?
