Ford’s Verve on Verge of Success

All of the car companies introduced some of their best new concepts and vehicles at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit earlier this month. But it was hard to detract attention away from the Ford vehicles that have new eco-friendly features and more efficient engines.
The Ford Verve Sedan concept is a perfect example of the industry’s move toward smaller engines. But Ford leads the way with this model’s increased power and decreased emissions. This particular model is a product of the company’s European manufacturing plant, as are many of Ford’s new small compact vehicles. But the Verve isn’t as small as, let’s say, the Ka or the Mondeo. Instead, according to Jim Farley, it is the company’s connection between the compact cars of the European market and larger and more powerful cars that are popular in the North American market.
The Verve Sedan won’t be available in the United States for at least a few years. The company plans to release it to the consumers in Europe at least two years before bringing it over to the U.S. One reason for this is to generate a buzz about it over here and get the customers excited for its arrival. As it is so different in design and engine size, it fits in better with Europe’s current market and North America’s future market.
